What Have I Been Up Too?

I am posting a few pictures on here to show y'all what I have been up to the last 8 months since my last post.  I am sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt that millions have been checking my blog daily, for 8 months, to see what Waldo has been up to, har har.  Yeah, sure!

Since I last made a post I have started my own business doing contract installations of window shades and blinds.  It is a pretty fun job, everyday presents a new challenge and my motto has become, "If I am not learning than I am not working"

If you wonder why there are rain drops on my blog page, it is because I live here in rainy Seattle.  I swear, here it is the end of June and my windshield wipers were still getting a workout this morning at 5:30 as I drove to another jobsite.  When will it end?  I hear that July will have 4 sunny day, believe it or not!

The following are a few pictures of some of my latest install jobs.  Oh, by the way, my company name:  Energy Smart Window Coverings.  I do mainly install work, but in time would love to get away from that and take over the Northwest as the leading window covering supplier.  Why not shoot for the stars eh?

Cheers,

This is me in front of the largest shade that I have installed as of yet.  It is a motorized roller shade.  Notice the door to the left in pic with no covering, then you will be able to tell that the section behind me is covered with a shade.  Keep in mind that I am on 5'9".  It all rolls up with only a touch of a button.

Freestone Financial Office in the 1918 Building downtown Seattle.  As if you couldn't tell by the Space Needle in the background.  This was my first job as subcontractor.  We started at 3 pm on Sunday afternoon and finished at 5 a.m on Monday morning, just in time for the tenants to start their first work day in this space.

This next project was one of my funnest yet.  I was contracted to go to the Seattle Justice Center and fix every motorized roller shade in the thermal wall system.  It is a very narrow fit, and for 4 days I worked at trouble shooting the problems, testing motors and fixing fabric that was rolling wrong.  My only regret, not getting a before picture from the outside.

From the above photo you can see the 2nd floor shade are all down, and the top floor too I believe.  You can see my ladder on the 5th floor leaning against the thermal wall.

The above shows inside the thermal wall.  This type of wall system is used to bring a draft up and into the building, creating energy to use for heating and cooling.  It even heats the water for use in the restrooms!

My view for 4 days on this job - nearest to me is Qwest Field, then behind that is where the Mariners play, Safeco Field

  1. I had no idea I was going on my trip either. I should check to see if I need a passport, if I do I'll have to get one. Nice to see your regular updates here on your blog.
