What Have I Been Up Too?

I am posting a few pictures on here to show y'all what I have been up to the last 8 months since my last post.  I am sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt that millions have been checking my blog daily, for 8 months, to see what Waldo has been up to, har har.  Yeah, sure!

Since I last made a post I have started my own business doing contract installations of window shades and blinds.  It is a pretty fun job, everyday presents a new challenge and my motto has become, "If I am not learning than I am not working"

If you wonder why there are rain drops on my blog page, it is because I live here in rainy Seattle.  I swear, here it is the end of June and my windshield wipers were still getting a workout this morning at 5:30 as I drove to another jobsite.  When will it end?  I hear that July will have 4 sunny day, believe it or not!

The following are a few pictures of some of my latest install jobs.  Oh, by the way, my company name:  Energy Smart Window Coverings.  I do mainly install work, but in time would love to get away from that and take over the Northwest as the leading window covering supplier.  Why not shoot for the stars eh?

Cheers,

This is me in front of the largest shade that I have installed as of yet.  It is a motorized roller shade.  Notice the door to the left in pic with no covering, then you will be able to tell that the section behind me is covered with a shade.  Keep in mind that I am on 5'9".  It all rolls up with only a touch of a button.

Freestone Financial Office in the 1918 Building downtown Seattle.  As if you couldn't tell by the Space Needle in the background.  This was my first job as subcontractor.  We started at 3 pm on Sunday afternoon and finished at 5 a.m on Monday morning, just in time for the tenants to start their first work day in this space.

Jack Block Park

Yesterday I found yet another very cool park in Seattle.  It is just down the hill from my place

It is situated down on the water just across from downtown Seattle.  Normally a person goes to a park and sees swings, big rolling lawns and people playing frisbee.  Not at Jack Block Park.  This park winds through, or along the shipyards of Elliot Bay.  Its a very interesting walk as you see ships anchored just offshore to the north and thousands of shipping containers to the south.  To the east is an unobstructed view of downtown and more!

You can see the park going along the water

See the benches in the above pic?  The picture below shows what your view is when you take a seat and gander off to the east

Now turn around, this is where you came from to get to this bench

Walking along the dock, or dockway - whatever it is?!

Who are these people?

Bagpipe dude bagpiping away

After moving to West Seattle, all of the sudden I had company!  Lets see, Lee and Lisa came to visit.  Truth is, they were already coming and kindly included me in their trip.  On Friday, Lee helped me at work, we installed motorized shades in a few rooms of a 7.5 million dollar condo downtown.  We had a great time the next day, taking the water taxi over to Pikes Market Place.
Check out Lee sticking his head overboard

The next week Mr. Eric Printz decided to show up....lets see if I can put a pic of him on here.  As you will notice, everyone that visits has to come see me at work :)

Dad has been here several times now - check him out

Not sure who this is, but he is enjoying his day down on Alki Beach making music and an extra few bucks

Went for a walk and what did I see...

The sun setting, looking down quite an interesting set of stairs
At the end of my street looking out over the Puget Sound, cool spot to sit and watch the sunset
What would you do if you were hungry and stood on the corner - looking to your left is the golden arces and then to your right is the healthy natural market???  Hmmm....wonder where I ate tonight, any guesses?

Geez, from noon to just now 6:28 pm, I had my video uploading...finally lost my cool and clicked cancel!!! So instead of a fun ride through many sights and interesting people, the only thing you will get to see is my new bike and me :)
Here is the Cruiser - needing a name for this dude, any ideas? I will tell you what, the contest to name the Cruiser is officially started. Whoever comes up with a name that I end up choosing will get a free dinner at Jaks Bar and Grill on California Avenue (Voted 2nd best burger in the nation last year)

I just had to......

I bought me a Scwhinn Cruiser yesterday...loving it! Took a nice long ride down Alki Beach enjoying the sites and a very relaxing cruise. Will try to post the video I shot yesterday

A short walk....

When I have visitors I will take them out for a nice little walk...a few blocks down the street from my new pad we would come upon the neat little "Admiral Junction" area. For those wanting to shop at cool little stores, sip a london fog, browse the used book stores, rent a bike - or simply people watch...this would be your spot. As we continue just a few blocks more to the north, we would end up at a place named Hamilton Viewpoint Park. It is a great view of downtown Seattle. You can click once on the pictures to bring up a full screen shot....very nice!!!
